Morgan Stanley: These Are the Best 30 Stocks to Hold for the Long Term
2015-05-14 14:55:37.965 GMT
By Julie Verhage
(Bloomberg Business) -- Forget about buying and selling
stocks within a matter of days or months. Morgan Stanley is out
with a new note recommending 30 companies that you should hold
until 2018.
That's not to say you should then sell them in 2018, it's
to say that Morgan Stanley believes these companies are poised
to perform well over the next three years. Here's what Morgan
Stanley said in the note:
30 for 2018 identifies our best long-term picks based on
sustainability and quality of business model...Our driving
principle was to create a list of companies whose business
models and market positions would be increasingly
differentiated.
Here's a look at the 30 stocks included in the report. Big
names like Bank of America, Amazon, Costco, Google, JPMorgan,
Nike, Starbucks, and Disney all make the list. The chart below
shows how the firms performed on metrics like competitive
advantage, business model, pricing power, cost efficiency,
growth and governance.
