Bayer Makes New Offer for Monsanto
Bid is raised from $122 a share to $125
Germany’s Bayer AG made a revised takeover bid for Monsanto Co. after previous attempts to seal the mega deal were rebuffed.
The German life-sciences company boosted its offer to $125 a share, it said in a statement. The prior bid was $122 a share, or $62 billion.
Bayer also offered a $1.5 billion reverse-breakup fee should a deal be blocked on antitrust grounds.
