(Bloomberg) -- Memo from CEO Warren East to co.’s 54k staff
seeks to allay fears that activist investor ValueAct might push
for certain divisions to be sold, Telegraph reports, citing copy
of document seen by newspaper.
* “While with some activist interventions such dramatic
outcomes do indeed occur, mostly these people are simply
capitalists seeking the opportunity of a business in some
kind of transition”: East writes
* “If management fails to act quickly enough to steer a
company through such a transition, then the activists often
whip up other shareholders to force a change’’: East
