Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- European steel business warns
against additional cost for decade from 2020 if EU Commission
cuts free carbon allowances for industry, Handelsblatt reports,
citing interview w/ Eurofer President Robrecht Himpe.
* Industry would need to buy as much as 50% of allowances if
that happened, pushing most cos. out of market: Himpe
* NOTE: Oct. 7, ThyssenKrupp may abandon steelmaking in CEO’s
second term
