Draghi May Hint at More QE Measures, Wellink Tells de Telegraaf

(Bloomberg) -- Former ECB Governing Council member Nout
Wellink says in an interview with de Telegraaf about ECB
President Mario Draghi that “I don’t exclude that he will
announce on Thursday that the desired balance-sheet increase of
EU1,000b is an intermediate target.”
* Says it’s not clear that banks will lend more when ECB buys
government bonds, credit demand is limited, banks say they
don’t need QE to be able to lend more
* Says there’s not a threat of deflation, Europe has entered a
prolonged period of low inflation
