Asian stocks headed for their first back-to-back gain in two weeks on continuing optimism that the deadly coronavirus outbreak may be waning in some key epicenters.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index climbed about 1% after advancing almost 3% Monday. Futures on the U.S. S&P 500 fluctuated between gains and losses after the index closed up 7%, at its highest since March 13. The dollar, a key barometer of funding strains during the crisis, retreated against major peers. Indonesia mounted its biggest-ever dollar bond sale, in another sign of easing stress. Treasuries dipped.
