U.S. and European stock futures were little changed, while Treasury yields ticked up, ahead of a Federal Reserve meeting where investors anticipate policy makers will signal a readiness to lower interest rates.
Stocks rose in Asia, following a rally on Wall Street, in the wake of President Donald Trump tweeting that he will sit down with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G-20 summit next week -- a meeting that had been a question mark as trade tensions deepened. Hong Kong’s shares led the region, advancing more than 2%, with other benchmarks seeing more modest gains. Ten-year Treasury yields nudged away from a 1-handle, and are now at 2.07%. Japan’s yields, however, slid deeper into negative territory, hitting a three-year low.
