Most Asian stocks posted modest gains and U.S. and European futures climbed Friday, as a tumultuous week of heightened trade uncertainty and fears over global growth draws to a close. Treasury yields steadied after Thursday’s declines.
Shares climbed in China and Hong Kong and edged higher in Japan. Stocks in South Korea were lower after a holiday. Earlier, the S&P 500 Index rose after a volatile Thursday session with above-average volume. New Zealand’s 10-year yield dropped below 1% for the first time and Japan’s 10-year yield slipped to the lowest since 2016. The dollar was little changed.
