US Market Closded higher again even if some cautious comment at the begining of the day. Yellen made some interesting comments, the implementation of fiscal stimulus in the U.S. will have a positive effect on growth. The fed funds future market still projects the next FOMC rate hike to occur in June with an implied probability of 70.7% (from 65.4% yesterday). The implied probability of a March rate hike has also ticked up following today's monetary policy report, but it remains relatively low at 17.7% (from 13.3% yesterday). Consumer discretionary (+0.6%) also outpaced the benchmark index, while technology (+0.3%) underperformed the broader market. utilities (-0.7%), real estate (-0.5%), and telecom services (-0.1%) all closing Tuesday lower. US After Hours HUM +1%, DVN +1% following earnings/guidance, FIG +25% jumps on Softbank acquisition news, airlines soaring on Buffet's Berkshire quarterly portfolio update... FOSL -15%, TRUP -12% following earnings/guidance. Asia equity indices remaining bid, tracking the rebound in the 2nd half of trade on Wall St. Fed Chair Yellen's congressional testimony, though somewhat hawkish, did not sway markets sufficiently that the Fed is gearing up for a March rate hike. Nikkei225 among the best performing indices again as USD/JPY pair solidifies its gains above 114. In China, economic data out overnight saw very strong lending figures, though analysts are again reminded the results may be skewed by the timing of the Lunar New Year coming a month earlier than last time. Separately, a commerce ministry official warned that trade sector still faces risks of soft external demand and potential rise in protectionism. Japan's Abe and Aso expressed confidence that Washington understands Japan monetary policy as it pertains to its currency, and that it is not deliberately manipulating exchange rates.
