Top-weighted components like Google (GOOGL 601.63, +3.85), Microsoft (MSFT 46.47, +0.56), and Intel (INTC 35.33, +0.33) posted gains between 0.6% and 1.2%, while the top index member by weight—Apple (AAPL 98.35, -0.62)—lost 0.6%, volume wers till light at 590mil shares, VIX @ 12.66 +4.71%...San Francisco Fed report noted "evidence based on surveys, market expectations, and model estimates show that the public seems to expect a more accommodative policy than Federal Open Market Committee participants."...The Nikkei OP in Asia helped by the slide in the Yen, Fin Min Aso downplayed the biggest contraction in Q2 GDP in 5 years, stating there is no change in view that economy recovering moderately following GDP data and adding there is no plan to compile additional budget to support economy this autumn.
