Ouster partners with Seneca on lidar for autonomous wildfire-response drones
- Ouster partnered with Seneca to integrate Ouster's Rev8 native color lidar into Seneca's autonomous drone platform for wildfire response operations.
- The companies said the lidar is intended to improve perception, navigation and obstacle avoidance in smoke, dust, changing terrain and other low-visibility conditions.
- Seneca aims to use the system across cargo delivery to fire lines, terrain-following for mapping and vegetation management, and inspection of structures and utility infrastructure.
- Ouster said its NDAA §164- and BABA-compliant digital lidar platform also supports Seneca's U.S.-designed and assembled aircraft strategy.
