Revolut in talks with Softbank Vision Fund re potential investment
Revolut, the London-based online challenger bank, has held early-stage discussions with Softbank’s Vision Fund regarding a future investment, The Times reported. A person directly knowledgeable about the situation said a final decision is unlikely to be made in the next few months.
A fintech investor in London suggested Revolut’s next round of funding might raise up to USD 500m. The Vision Fund makes a minimum investment of USD 100m, the report said.
Last April, Revolut achieved a USD 1.7bn valuation in a funding round which raised USD 250m, the item noted.
The USD 100bn Softbank tech fund has also discussed investment with Revolut’s peer Oaknorth, and those talks are believed to be at a more advanced stage, though any decision also remains months away, the item reported.
