Proton gets VW Group and Geely to enter bidding process – report
Proton Holdings, the car manufacturing unit of DRB-Hicom [KLSE:1619], a Malaysian conglomerate, is getting VW Group, the German carmaker, and Geely, the China based company, to bid for a stake in the Malaysian carmaker, The Star reported.
The report, citing an unnamed source, said that the two carmakers were among several companies, namely Renault, PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Suzuki, looking to acquire a stake in Proton.
