Nokia's HERE could fetch up to EUR 4bn
The Finnish telco equipment vendor Nokia's maps business, HERE, could fetch up to EUR 4bn, according to Taloussanomat.
The Finnish-language item cited a report from Citigroup in which analysts wrote that the price of the mapping unit could rise because of its strategic importance. The Citigroup representatives met yesterday with Nokia's managament and published a report.
Nokia has announced that it will consider different strategic options for Here and in Nokia's balance sheet, the unit is valued at EUR 2bn, it said. Citi however, estimates that HERE's price may rise, up to EUR 4bn, if the unit is a strategic buy.
The piece said that Here has attracted interest from the Californian taxi company Uber, the social media company Facebook, and German car makers. Here could also attract private equity investors, the item added, citing the report.
