Imminent merger between Vodafone and Liberty Global
The two companies already work together in countries like Holland. Their joint income would reach 72,000 million euros.
Vodafone and Liberty Global would merge imminently, say market sources NEGOCIOS.COM. The two companies already operate jointly in the Netherlands, as both companies reported in February. The resulting group would have estimated revenues of 72,000 million euros.
The transaction, if materialized, would be made after criticism from Vodafone for sale of O2 by Telefonica to Huffingtong Whampoa group.
In Holland, they have created a serious competitor to Royal KPN NV and Deutsche Telekom AG. The merger then expected synergies and savings of 3,500 million euros in the Netherlands alone, regardless of integration costs. In that operation, Vodafone paid 1,000 million euros.
According to the statement, all alone in the Netherlands will have 5.3 million mobile service subscribers, 4.2 million video customers and 3.2 million broadband users. Liberty Global and Vodafone have held talks to initiate the same process in other European countries, although they could now do as a muscle.
