Haldex may see renewed interest from ZF Friedrichshafen if Knorr-Bremse withdraws - report (translated)
03 JUL 2017
Haldex will likely see German ZF Friedrichshafen make a new offer if its peer Knorr-Bremse ends up having to withdraw its offer for the Swedish brake systems company, according to Dagens Industri.
The Swedish business daily reported, without citing any named sources, that ZF gained regulatory approval for the offer it made and later withdrew last year and the paper wrote that it is likely ZF will try again if Knorr-Bremse withdraws.
The paper cited a ZF spokesperson who said that the company is following the matter but that it's withdrawal last year still stands.
Meanwhile, Haldex's chairman, Jorgen Durban, said that he knows nothing of ZF's plans and that the two companies are not in any talks regarding the matter.
When asked if running Haldex as an independent company is an option, he said that Haldex is a good company so it is a possibility.
