Evans Cycles gets bids from JD Sports Fashion and Sports Direct
Evans Cycles received indicative bids from JD Sports Fashion and Sports Direct International last week, Sky News reported.
These bids come in along as competition with larger peer Halfords and other unidentified investors specializing in turnarounds that earlier made a bid also.
Evans Cycles' current liquidity needs come to around GBP 10m, an earlier Sky report said.
The report noted that JD Sports was understood to have a genuine interest in buying Evans, while it wasn't clear whether Sports Direct was committed to progressing further in the auction process.
