EI Towers may attract attention of Cellnex
EI Towers [BIT:EIT], an Italian transmission tower group, could attract the attention of larger Spanish competitor Cellnex, Italian-language daily Milano Finanza reported. The unsourced report said that bankers and advisors are looking at a potential merger of the two companies.
The report said that the merger could also involve Rai Way [BIT:RWAY] at a later date.
The item said that the aim would be to create a basis for a Europe-wide transmission tower group.
The report noted that Cellnex has a market cap of EUR 4.58bn and EI Towers a EUR 1.44bn.
