Continental may acquire to strengthen industrial business and boost technological competence in automotive field
Continental [FRA:CON], the German components maker, would like to strengthen its industrial business through acquisitions, according to an interview in Boersen-Zeitung.
The interview, given by Chief Financial Officer Wolfgang Schaefer to the German-language daily, also said Continental may use acquisitions to add more technology competences in the automotive field.
He said the company could afford an acquisition worth EUR 3bn at the moment.
No large acquisition is currently planned, he said. However, Continental may move if a strategically fitting and financially attractive possibility presents itself, he said.
