Amundi makes most attractive offer for Pioneer

Amundi, the French asset management company, has made the most attractive offer for Pioneer, the asset management arm of listed Italian banking group Unicredit, Italian-language daily Il Messaggero reported. The unsourced report noted that Amundi's non-binding offer was one of those selected at a Unicredit board meeting held yesterday 22 September.
The other offers shortlisted were from a consortium made up of Poste Italiane, Italian Treasury holding CdP and listed Italian asset management group Anima, French insurer AXA, Italian insurer Generali and German insurer Allianz, the report noted.
Amundi is being advised by Goldman Sachs, the report added.
As previously reported, Pioneer is valued at EUR 3bn.
