America Movil/Telekom Austria deal still at Austrian competition authority
The deal that will see Mexican telecommunications group America Movil, take operational control of rival Telekom Austria is still being examined by the Austrian competition authority [BWB], Wirtschaftsblatt reported. Without naming sources, the Austrian newspaper said that BWB has until today to decide whether it will ask the local cartel court to look into the deal, which would delay the proposed transaction.
As previously reported, America Movil signed a shareholder pact with the Austrian state investment agency Oesterreichische Industrieholding [OIAG], which still holds a significant stake in Telekom Austria.
Telekom Austria has a market cap of EUR 3.156bn.
