Altice NV [AMS:ATC], the Netherlands-based telecommunications giant, is considering an initial public offering of USD 2bn for its cable television unit in the United States, French daily Les Echos reported.
The report cited banking sources as saying that investment funds BC Partners (the owner of this news service) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, which holds a nearly 31% share in Altice USA, could sell between 5% and 10% of the shares in the business.
The IPO, expected to be launched in the summer, could value Altice USA at between USD 25bn and USD 30bn, the report went on to say.
