Altana does not perceive itself as takeover candidate; eyes acquisitions - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

Altana, a German specialty chemicals group, does not believe it is in danger of becoming a takeover target, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung [FAZ] reported. Martin Babilas, the chairman of Altana, dismissed the idea by saying that the market is aware of the fact that the specialty chemicals group is a core element of SKion, the investment holding of German businesswoman Susanne Klatten.

Babilas reaffirmed in the article that acquisitions remain an element of Altana’s growth strategy. The group is particularly interested in targets that allow it to strengthen its market position and access new technologies. Babilas explained in the report that Altana would take a close look at suitable non-core assets put up for sale by larger chemical conglomerates.

Altana generated more then EUR 2bn revenue in 2015.
