Air Berlin, the listed German airline, could be split into two units, Handelsblatt reported. Without citing a specific source the report said the Air Berlin management is considering splitting the company into a division for tourist destinations and a division focused on the classic scheduled flight business. The German daily cited an article to be published in Focus magazine which claimed Air Berlin Senior Vice President Detlef Altmann told industry specialists that this option is being considered.
