Abertis looks to team up with Gavio to acquire northern Italian motorways - report (translated)
Abertis [BME:ABE] is looking to team up with Gavio, the construction group, in order to acquire other motorway operating companies in northern Italy, Italian-language daily Milano Finanza reported.
The unsourced report said that Abertis is looking to increase its presence in northern Italy following its acquisition of Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova (Serenissima) and sees Gavio as a natural partner.
The report said that Abertis has already shown interest in Brebemi and Tangenziale Esterna controlled by Autostrade Lombarde and Pedemontana Lombarda for acquisition.
According to a previous report, Pedemontana was seeking to sell a 43% stake for EUR 235m.
